  • Farmer's Training

    The idea of the program is to organize and mobilize small-scale farmers living in the project areas of Chiradzulu, Zomba and Lilongwe districts to join forces, share ideas and resources to further the agriculture production of each every farmer   member to improve their living standard, through training and practicing sustainable agriculture farming methods to increase food security and stability for improved health and nutrition. The idea is also to increase crop seasons for farmers to enable them improve their income and develop the linkage to new markets to achieve high price.

    DAPP Farmers Club Malawi is implementing the programme in line with MDG No 1 which is:-

    - Eradicate Extreme poverty and hunger

    - Reduce by half the proportion of people who live on less than one dollar a day,

    - Reduce by half the proportion of people who suffer from hunger

    DAPP Farmers Club organize the smallholder farmers, to join forces and resources together, to further the agriculture   production of each and every farmer   to enable them improve their living standard and  the programme is complimenting government efforts to ensure that there is improved food security for smallholder farmers.

    The program is aiming to improve the farming skills of farmers by introducing simple agriculture techniques that will:

    * Increase the crop yield, * Reduce crop loss after harvest, * Increase income of small scale farmers, * Increase access to water for Drinking and irrigation and * Develop the links to new markets for farmer to achieve good price for their produce

    The programme is divided in three elements of focus as follows:

    * Planning and managing the field

    * Water and Irrigation

    * Storage and preservation

    * Recording of crop production

    * Income Generating Projects

    * Marketing

    * Saving

    * Loans and financing

    Element 3 * Health, Hygiene and Education

    * Home improvements

    * Better Nutrition

    * Better Health

    * Child Care
